After searching for a while, I was finally referred to a breeder located about two hours north of me. I knew of several people who had puppies from that breeder and recommended them. They confirmed that they had a female from a litter available and could bring her home the weekend after my birthday. After having male dogs for 15 years, I was sick of constantly cleaning up their urine and marking their territory.

Parker and I spent a day bonding, sneaking away to get Gigi during Jayden’s birthday party. We drove to Pittsburgh to meet the breeder who would bring her home. Jayden has no idea how we kept it secret. Randomly, I would ask him if he had a puppy and what name he would give it. He always answered Gigi. Jayden isn’t surprised that Gucci Gang’s answer was short.

She was a cuddle machine her first few days at home. She is now three months old, and although we still haven’t mastered potty training yet, she will be fine as long as we keep up with taking her out. She’ll run up the steps to poop on the ground if she doesn’t. LOL

We got a puppy to explain why we had so many snowflakes this winter! Although it wasn’t an easy task to train potty, the children were great.

It’s easy to get your baby fix. She loves being held and rocked like a baby, car rides (but insists on sitting on my lap), and my favorite throws underneath my desk. Although baths aren’t too difficult, blow drying is still something we need to work on.

Andrew’s love for her is my greatest surprise throughout this puppy life. Andrew has never been a fan that dogs are in the house. He never had dogs as a child. Although I don’t know if it was because he decided to get a puppy, or if he just loves her so much that he has been putting her on our couch while chatting with her. He loves her so much that we all know it, but we keep it quiet and don’t make too much of it.

He has been incredible, despite my concerns about Dozer’s reaction to other dogs in the house. Although he could care less about her, his little self is feisty and loves to play. His paw is the same size as her head. They are not allowed to be together unsupervised. However, I was relieved when he didn’t bark or growl at her for coming into his home.
